As Principal of Clear Spring Creative, Richard collaborates with project owners and creative development teams to produce informative, compelling and fun interpretive experiences.
Richard started Clear Spring Creative to focus on interpretive projects that have environmental education, natural resources policy, conservation and habitat stewardship at their core. Each project is a prized opportunity to participate in the development of important ideas - an opportunity to make a compelling story more memorable. With 20+ years of design experience, Richard has designed for a wide array of topics, from shoreline ecosystems to the history of Reggae music to the modern history of submarine warfare.
With special interest in forming true and lasting bonds between people and the natural world, Richard applies a keen and boundless interest to enhance interpreted experience for audiences of all types. Clear Spring Creative provides expertise in planning workshops, executive presentations, design phase planning, project management and execution, conceptual and technical documentation and art direction. Richard has a proven record of innovative and effective approaches to interpretive planning, design documentation, client advocacy and project implementation.

the design moment
Each interpretive project is a prized opportunity to collaborate on design solutions with people who are moved by a place, a moment, a story untold. We want to contribute our expertise where people are investing themselves in the stewardship of that place and the stories they have to tell.
